New Tackle For Sale page added to site and navigation.

I have been very busy over the past few 4 months, removing most of the silt from the channels. We now have 3.5 to 4 feet 5 inches of depth there now from the original depths of 2ft 6in. All the space behind the Nicospan is now filled with silt and drying out nicely. The island is so much bigger now all the gaps are filled. With the bridge finished..... it's a joy to walk across to the new Island cabin. Named Kiwi. (sleeps 2)

Inside the lodge a new 2018 60 inch Smart Tv with matching BluRay player and sound bar. Also as requested a new floor lamp for reading. All beds now come with the Simba mattresses.

A few carp out over Xmas period 12 to one group. A few here and there to myself and friends. I am grabbing a quick half hour before dark and catching loads of stunning roach and perch to the maggot feeder and pole. I have really got the bug for this so carp fishing has taken a back seat... (I will get over it!!!). (mid life crisis possibly).

Oh the spiders... they were coming in through the bathroom windows at night. I have built a box frame outside with fine mesh covering to stop the little critters.... so far its working a treat.

Catch reports are up.. As mentioned a lot of reports dont come in, so the number of anglers reflects this.

2017 . Wow yet another lake record this year 114 carp plus tench and roach to regulars Paul and Louise

One of our Famous carp Warrior caught by Scott last week after her two year absence. 27lb 8 spawned out weight but she was in cracking condition, where do those bigger fish hide out? 222 of our guests now have had their PBs .. incredible!!!

WOW a 31lb 1oz common to me in April, plus it looks like the same carp this week to Aaron at 30lb 7oz.

2016 Summary. Another lake record to Chris , Helen, linda & Reg 110 carp for 1718lb 1oz... WOW!!! Many other multiple catches and PBs to nearly all our guests this year........

2015 Summary.

Wow ! what an incredible year. The lake record catch of 1643lb 109 carp caught in a week. A stockie Ghosty caught at 17lb 4oz ( from an egg June 2009. Quite a few perch are showing to the float fishing anglers, also a 3lb on the nose roach caught in the netting! look out for more surprises in 2016!.

We have joined up with Pallatrax as an associated fishery. We are actively encouraging anglers to switch over to the award winning Stonze system. Lead will be fased out in the near future and eventually banned, so why not give them a go. We are also now stocking the majority of the Pallatrax range with an offer of buy one ready tied rig with the new Gripz hook and get a free ... Yes free Stonze weight!. I have personally been using Stonze for many years, there really is no reason to be polluting waters with toxic leads anymore.

Inside the lodge . I have finally given up on the oven and replaced it with a new simple to use Neff "hide en slide" No more waiting for the oven to heat up!. Cuboard lights in the kitchen a nice finishing touch. A new 4K upscaling 50inch Tv for the main bedroom, with matching BluRay player. On going painting and repairs from this years wear and tear.

As always I hope all our guests have a fantastic new year, lets hope more records get broken in 2016.. Regards Brian.

Catch Up! 13/6/2015

Well, appologies for the lack of news, but I have been a busy bee. First of all a few weeks for me in May (hense catches were down!) I finally finished the drive and drainage with around 14 tons of road plannings rolled in # knackard... A few of you will have noticed the stockie catches were up (well they were hungry and looking for a fish feeder!!!) around 50 stunners were moved up from the stock pond. They have settled in the lake now and dissapeared.!!! Some of our home grown 2009 fish coming out at 12lb which I am really pleased with. 400lb of 3-6 inch roach were removed from the lake giving our remaining stock a bit more room to breath. A running total of 148 of our guests having their PBs in 3 years which we can all be very prowd of. Most of our larger fish still due to come out this year.

Another 1.5 tons of Siltex applied via the aeration system .. A fishery first as far as I know for this method of application. Heated Far-infrared heated mirrors fitted in the bathrooms eliminating the cold spots in the winter. These work by warming you like the suns rays. A new spay (option) replacement kitchen tap is proving popular with washing up being less of a chore.

On the wildlife front, I had the opportunity to see 16 deer in the distance, a Tawny Owl in the Island, numerous Field Fair are visiting. This week a stray Egret ? someone forgot to tell it its summer time here in the UK !

Next ..... A rather large project ... Trying to sort out this typical " British Weather" I am struggling to get the outside temperature to everyone liking !!! . Kind regards as always Brian.

Sad News! 10/3/2015

It is with regret in light of the recent damage to the central heating system and decking etc. We will no longer be offering holidays to ALL MALE / ALL FEMALE GROUPS. We are providing a premium holiday venue, we cannot keep up our standards with what could only be described as drunken behavior. All male/female only bookings already taken will be honoured at this time .

Our latest guests started the new year with a bang! In the first 1 1/2 hours of fishing they caught 5 twenties. Their good tactics continued and they finished their 3 night session with a total of 9 twenties, a koi and 1 stockie. The fish appear to be loving the stormy mild conditions!

Christmas Cracker! - 30 December 2013

Our Christmas guests enjoyed a bumper session despite the weather! Torrential rain, phenomenal winds and heavy frosts for three mornings meant they only managed to sneak in 29 hours fishing. However, Dave used his homemade boilies to great effect catching 9 twenties to 28lb 6oz, 5 doubles, an 8lb 9oz linear stockie and a very large tench. They are already looking forward to their next visit in 2015!
